Accents of Fuchsia

My three season porch has recently become my favorite room in my apartment (pictures coming soon). It started as a storage room, then became an unused art studio, and now it's a place I bring my plants back to life. My plants (and cat) are loving the sunlight that pours through the eight windows that surround this little room. The love seat and chair I have been desperately trying to get rid of on Craigslist have now found a home, and my mornings are spent sipping coffee and admiring the flowering geraniums. The latest bloom was the fuchsia geranium plant which got me thinking about how I can use that color in designs. It's one on those colors that is perfect for accents, but you don't want to get carried away.

The zebra print pillows make for a nice backdrop for the fuchsia flowers.

Creative artwork, fuchsia glass table, and classic white sofa create an elegant, but playful setting.

I am very much in love with silver right now, but this might even be a bit too much for me. However, I love the contrast between the beautiful silver bed and fuchsia arm chair. Very glamorous!

The Orange Chandelier

I have to start off with "The Orange Chandelier" because this was the inspiration for creating a blog. I came across it in a random Google image search last year and could not keep my eyes off of it. I used it as my desktop background, printed it out and hung it above my desk at work, and eventually it just ended up in the "design" folder on my computer forgotten about until now. I have yet to see it in person, but dream of using it in a design someday, possible even in my own home!

La Murrina's "Glamour Chandelier"

It's cold, raining, and time to start a blog.

I've finally decided to join the blogging world and create a space where I can organize my ongoing list of design ideas and projects. I'm hoping this will add to my daily creativity and eliminate the piles of magazines and notebooks scattered throughout my apartment. This will become my design journal, portfolio, my inspiration, resource guide, and wish list. Enjoy!
