Design Within Reach recently introduced the Era Chair available in black, white, coffee and red. Although new to DWR, this chair has been around since 1859 during a time when Micheal Thonet was experimenting with bent wood furniture. He perfected a process of bending wood and wood veneers under hot steam to create seamless curved support structures for chairs, beds and sofas.

This chair, originally called Chair No. 14 is also referred to as a "The Bistro" chair and can be found in restaurants and cafes around the world.
