As I was trying to get caught up on the never-ending pile of magazines last weekend, I came across this beautiful picture of the fabulous Gwyneth Paltrow in her kitchen (Vogue).

As a kitchen designer, I can't help but notice the details of the kitchen before caring to find out what designer clothes she was wearing. Like I've said before, the classic white kitchen will always be a favorite of mine, but this one may top the list.

Instead of your traditioanl 1 1/4" thick countertop, this one seems to fold over the base cabinets about 12". Of course the marble is not that thick, but it gives the illusion that it is.

To the right of the sink a narrow open cabinet with vertical slots allows for easy access to cutting boards.

I've seen many plate racks in kitchens, but rarely do you see them over the sink where they are meant to be. Placing it over the sink allows the plates to air dry and the water to run down the drain. In this kitchen, the chrome brackets and cabinet hardware adds a modern touch to a classic design.

Try not to be distracted by the overly staged kitchen mess as you take in the size of that awesome hood! The kitchen doesn't seem to be as big as one might expect a movie star to have, but the large vent hood makes if feel a little more grand. As seen in the fist picture, the thick marble edge wraps the island and you can see more of those chrome accents in the background.

Now to find out who she is wearing!
