Ever since I joined Pinterest, this lovely image {via 79 Ideas} has been "pinned" 77 times! For those of you not familiar with Pinterest, that just means it has been saved 77 times to different Pinterest folders, therefore, quite the popular photo. It is quite lovely, isn't it?

And here are a few more yellow and gray images to ooh and aah over...

But don't worry...it's creative, it's colorful, it's made from reclaimed wood and it's better then ever!

2 {studded...and stunning} THINGS

{images via Pinterest and Lee Broom}

I love the dramatic shape of these leather studded shoes {original source unknown} reminiscent of the late Alexander McQueen's powerful designs, and I can't believe I'm learning about the amazing furniture designs by Lee Broom for the first time. I am completely mesmerized by his work. Here are just a few of his designs that have me flipping out!

If you are lusting over those shoes, a similar style can be purchased through Nasty Gal

For a little mid-morning break, here is Alexander McQueen's Sping/Summer 2012 fashion show {here}

Wood tables made of tree trunks have always been a favorite of mine. They bring the outdoors in, and the organic textures add balance to rooms with sleek furniture and modern designs.

I've decided to say goodbye to my endless piles of magazine images I have stowed away in binders, file organizers and not-so-organized piles around my office and home. Between Pinterest and online magazines, I can't keep up...so as I gather the strength to recycle these treasured magazine clippings, I will also be sharing one image a day on the Solo Thais facebook page. There will be no order or description for posting these images, just a pretty picture to stare at throughout your day.

Here's the first image which was randomly pulled from an overflowing binder. I now remember why I loved this image...stylized floral wallpaper, French daybed, delicate linens and a fresh breeze...

Back in November I posted a living room update {here} and one of my plans was to create an art wall around the television.

So far, we have 3 {inexpensive} pieces hanging to the right side of the TV.

The first frame at the top was a recent purchase at Micheal's for under $30, along with a white matte and blue craft paper. I printed out this template, cut out the dog silhouette and glued it to a white background. Easy enough, right?

The small frame was purchased from Goodwill for only $1, and the colorful photo was a page I tore out of a fashion magazine of an artsy editorial spread.

The lighthouse is my favorite, especially since I saved this frame and poster from the trash. I purchased a black matte {roughly $5} to add a little definition to the poster, then outlined the lighthouse with a gold paint pen...it turned this dumpster-bound frame into an interesting piece of art.

This frame contains a CD insert of the lead singer, Eugene, of one of my favorite bands, Gogol Bordello. For those of you not familiar with them, a little gypsy-punk can really motivate a good workout. And remember these pink little animals from a spray-painting project last year? Not only do they add a splash of color and playfulness to my living room, but my boyfriend's 4 year old niece plays with them when she visits. If your walls a looking a little bare, look around your house for old books, magazine, fabric, t-shirts or posters and create a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
