{old & new} KITCHEN OF THE WEEK

A friend sent me a link to this kitchen the other day and I instantly fell in love. The simplicity of the space is so inviting, and the combination of old furniture and new appliances, kitchen cabinets and accessories compliment this bright open space to a tee. My favorite part...those black leather pulls against the sleek, white cabinets.

I love when fellow bloggers share their home projects, especially something as simple and effective as this painting {see her step-by-step process here}. 

So I of course had to give it a try. I used left over paint from our gray walls and yellow front door, and added a little metallic paint to tie in some of the brass and gold accessories around the house. I'm not sure where these new paintings will live, or if I'll even keep them, but for a quick afternoon project it's just what I needed.
