COLOR COMBO {green & gold}

We are probably going to see many shades of green this year after the announcement that Emerald is Pantone's color of 2013. I don't know why it's so exciting to learn of this "color of the year" each year, especially since many colors make up new trends in the fashion and design world each season. But there's something very regal about jewel tones, especially when combined with gold or brass. I love the contrast of the gold faucets against the green tile, and this 1960's fashionistas ensemble is quite stunning with a shimmering gold pattern and gold beaded details around the sleeves. What do you think about this shade of green? Do you have it in your home or in your wardrobe?

  1. Vicente Wolfe in New York also posted about the Emerald green trend issued by Pantone. I'm loving this and hoping deep, rich greens will stay around for awhile. Everyone looks good in some variation of green. (An emerald ring looks good on most fingers, too!)

    Love the gorgeous bathroom and Japanese-inspired gown. Yum!

    Cheers,
    April

    1. Hi April! Thanks for reading. I hope this color stays around for awhile too. I've already purchased an adorable emerald dress and painted a side table in my living room emerald. I guess you could say I'm hooked!

  2. I have it in neither my home or my wardrobe, but long admired it in both. It's funny how we gravitate to the same colors, year in and year out, regardless of what is on trend. Though it's a color I like very much, realistically I see myself incorporating emerald into my world through jewelry only.

    1. I'm fining that it's hard to incorporate it into my home decor at the moment, so why force it. Emerald jewelry is always very stunning and a great way to incorporate a color trend into your life without going overboard.
